What We Do
Hartford Hospital and the University of Connecticut Emergency Medicine Residency offer 3 unique 1-year fellowships to ACGME-accredited emergency medicine program graduates. As the 18th busiest ED in the US, our Fellows work at our Level-1 hospital. Our Emergency Critical Care and Resuscitation fellowship is geared towards those Emergency Physicians who have an interest in learning and providing the most up to date advanced resuscitation techniques in the ED and to be future leaders in the field of Emergency Critical Care and Resuscitation. We also sponsor a Medical Simulation fellowship designed to prepare fellows for leadership positions in the field of Simulation Based Medical Education. Based at CESI, our hospital’s premier simulation center, fellows will gain skills in simulation-based curriculum development, scenario design, debriefing skills and program implementation. Our fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound is geared towards those interested in becoming educators in EUS. Through scanning shifts, image reviews, Journal Clubs and learning from some of the best FPD-AEMUS faculty, our fellows will gain the skill sets to be US leaders.
